If you consider yourself an animation fan, well worth seeking out, just make sure to watch the Recobbled cut. However, in 2006, a filmmaker, artist and fan of Williamss work named Garrett Gilchrist decided to bring justice to the film and made a fan restoration of the original movie workprint from 1992. The plot isn't too original, but it's a fun enough adventure that introduces some fun and quirky characters. It's lush, innovative and sports an interesting art style, though because of the long production time it can be a little inconsistent. Perhaps the most heartbreaking story in the history of cinema is that of the animated film The Thief and the Cobbler. Princess Yum Yum 'She is more than This'. When the orbs are stolen, death and destruction will follow, so when the king notices the orbs are gone he sends his daughter and a young cobbler on a mission to return the orbs as quickly and safely as possible. This film uses elements from mostly the Miramax version, Arabian Knight. It's not your typical Disney animation, which is no doubt why people didn't really take to it right away. The Thief & the Cobbler (or Arabian Knight) is a British-American fantasy-adventure musical comedy film & a live-action remake of the 1992 animated film of the same name by the late Canadian-British animator Richard Williams. The result is pretty impressive, even though attempts to release the film in theaters failed to draw in audiences.

Ambitious animation and lack of funding took its toll on The Thief and the Cobbler.
